From Our First Rodeo to a Full Mezzanine: VASCO at MODEX 2024 and What’s Coming in 2026
MODEX 2024 was a milestone for us. It was VASCO’s first time exhibiting at North America’s largest supply chain and material handling trade show, and it was my first rodeo at any tradeshow with Metalsistem. Walking into the Georgia World Congress Center with 50,000+ attendees and over 1,000 exhibitors, the scale hit different when you’re not just attending but building and running a booth.
What We Built in 2024
Our booth was roughly 30 by 20 feet, and we designed it to make a statement. We constructed a raised platform about two and a half feet off the ground to demonstrate our mezzanine capability. We wanted attendees to see what elevated storage and workspace looks like in real life, not just on a spec sheet. We couldn’t commit to a full-height mezzanine due to show floor restrictions, but even that scaled-down version turned heads and started real conversations with facility managers, warehouse operators, and distribution leaders from across the country.
The platform gave people a tangible sense of what Metalsistem’s modular steel systems can do: maximize vertical space, create functional multi-level work areas, and do it all with a system that’s engineered to be reconfigured as your operation evolves.
The Team Behind It
One of the best parts of MODEX 2024 was working alongside three incredible people who made the whole thing possible and who will all be returning for 2026.
Jose is our General Manager. He runs logistics and day-to-day operations for Metalsistem USA. If something needs to get from point A to point B, whether that’s product across the country or a booth built on a deadline, Jose is the person making it happen.
Etienne is our in-house designer and engineer. He creates custom floor plans for clients, advises on best practices for space optimization, and works directly with permitting agencies to make sure installations meet every code requirement. At MODEX, he was the guy attendees wanted to sit down with to map out their facility.
Stefania is the executive overseeing Metalsistem International. She has been in this industry for years, and her knowledge of how Metalsistem’s systems serve clients globally is unmatched. Having her at the booth added a level of insight that you simply cannot get anywhere else, from European warehousing standards to multinational rollout strategies.
What’s Coming at MODEX 2026
This year, we are going bigger. Literally. At MODEX 2026 (April 13-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta), our booth will feature a full-scale mezzanine structure. Not a suggestion of what a mezzanine could be. The real thing. Attendees will be able to walk up, see the build quality, and experience the space from above.
The mezzanine will showcase components from across the entire Metalsistem product catalogue, including our Super Build and Super 1-2-3 product lines. We will also have shelving and racking systems on full display. The goal is to give every visitor a complete picture of what is possible: shelving for organized, accessible storage at every scale; racking for heavy-duty pallet and bulk storage that maximizes vertical space; and mezzanine structures that create entirely new usable square footage within your existing footprint.
Every one of these products is modular and fully customizable. That is the whole point of the Metalsistem system. It is designed to scale with you. When your operation changes, your storage and workspace infrastructure changes with it. Components can be reconfigured, expanded, or relocated without starting from scratch. For any facility looking to grow without moving to a bigger building, this is the conversation to have.
A Personal Note from Carlos
Walking into MODEX 2024 for the first time was a rush. I had never done a tradeshow at this level with Metalsistem, and having Jose, Etienne, and Stefania there made all the difference. They had the experience and I brought the energy and the hunger to make connections.
This time around, I am even more fired up. We are showcasing the full capacity of our product lines. We will actually be sitting higher this year. I am looking forward to having a meeting space up in the mezzanine where we can have client conversations and take calls while overlooking the entire show floor. There is something about having that vantage point that changes the dynamic of a meeting.
